big changes on the way

Welcome to Paleo Florida. This is a website designed for those who are not professionals, but average curious people.  The mammals are divided into carnivores and herbivores, then divided further by recognizable names.  Scientific names will be shown as well for the learning. This site begins in the Oligocene Epoch dating from 33.9 million to 23.3 million years ago. It ends in the Pleistocene Epoch of 2.5 million to 11,000 years ago.

Along with the mammals are basics in Florida's evolution in geology, it's physical geography, and climatic conditions which are not precisely known

Sorry, this website does not deal with ancient man in Florida.  There are plenty of resources out there for primitive man.

The author of this website gathers reliable information from the Fossil Works paleo database which is contributed to by nearly 200 researchers from over 100 universities world-wide, as well as the USGS, FSGS, and renown researchers in various other fields.
